Introduction
Welcome to the 30-Day Accessibility Challenge!
Each day you will receive a short plain text email just like this with a single topic, example, resources, and a task. That task is small enough for you to spend 20 minutes on each day. Today's email will be longer than most.
Each may not seem like you’re accomplishing a lot but the goal is to make your website/app 1% better each day. The changes you complete will make a long-lasting impact for your users, increase access, and make your site more of a delight to use.
Most of the topics will reach beyond accessibility as we work to provide equal access to information in a structured way. It helps everyone using the site, including search engines, who are often considered the largest screen reader users of your site. The more they can discover the more opportunities for your site to rank.
We’ll start with the heavy-hitter items that make the most impact and then move to the items that may be a little more complex but really make your web presence shine.
Note: This is not meant to be a comprehensive guide, it is only a small fraction of the details, rationale, and considerations when ensuring equal access to content online. This is only meant to be a prompt, each daily email could be an entire 30-day course of its own.
